Sounds fishy.
I bet it can be repaired short of getting a new head.

If you ask your question over at www.ArboristSite.com in the Chainsaw section there are several certified Stihl Techs that could be of more help. A Tech that goes by the name of Lakeside is at the top over there.

Yes, try shimming with loktite and a sliver of a soda can. Lots of stuff I fixed like this is still around today. Some things aren't. That is the cheap way, another way is to wrap wire into the threads. The right way is to Helicoil it. They sell em at Napa. Use Red Loktite. What you described happens alot. All over. I have never taken the heads of a car or truck because the spark plug threads were stripped. If it broke out that is another story but I don't recall seeing to much of that. Was the crush collar on the pulg?

That doesn't sound right. At what point and who first realised there was a problem?

the repair shop in question here has already fixed this problem once before with the same saw, he said now its just too big and there is no sleve for it, weve had work done by him for a while now, i dont think he is trying to rip us off, maybe he just isnt up to date with his riggin certificates, who knows, but my boss is done with it, letting it sit in the corner as a parts saw,

its funny, he blames us for not keeping an eye on the spark plugs and now orders us every morning to tighten the crap out of every one we have, if im not mistaken he should be down a couple of more saws by the end of the weeks if he keeps this up
