i believe this stihls worst saw ever, lasts about a year, then anti-vibe system brakes and might as well by a new one for the cost to fix all my saws go thru hell everyday,ms200t,310,460,660,the 280 is the only one that does this but stihl says its not there problem???

I dont think the ms280 is a proper professional chainsaw, stick to the pro range, from what I remember the 28 is a farmer's saw.

As for Stihl's worst saw thats the 17 by a long way, you'd be lucky to get this saw to last a month in a tree company.

The MS260 is a great small professional saw for small limbing and breaking up branches before they go through the chipper.

Now I cant say that... Ive got a 17 and used it like hell. It still starts on the 3-4th pull.

I was using it 5-6 hrs a day at one point in some VERY dirty conditions. Ive had it almost a year now and in fact, used it today.

Now, is it a pro grade saw???? no. But it make a good ground saw for rookies w/ little to no chainsaw experience.

I think they best handle something 40-50cc as a first saw.
The 170 and 180 feel like children's toys and don't really relate to the kind of saw most arborist/foresters will be using in work.
