MS200T Dead.

Hey All
I don't know who the clown was that said a 200T is only good for 2 years, but that feller is more full of bull than .Ok I'll be nice, I have customers who have the 020Ts predecessor of the MS200T,some over 8 years. I have had to replace a ring here and there, and a couple of them got a tree or something dropped on them. Replaced broken parts and they are still running to day. Sounds to me as though the guy just wants to sell saws and not repair them. If any of you have any issues with your Stihl products please let me know and I will help you anyway I can.

This guy is usually great. He sells me my saws at just over cost and usually doesn't charge me for small repairs because I've made some mortgage payments for him over the years! I was unhapily surprised that after I bought the saw it was a $16.00 repair. Oh well, I needed the saw that day and he wouldn't have been able to fix it on the spot. I will let you know though if I need more help. 1 thing a bunch of people have tried to help me with.........I have a 660 with a 36" bar and an 88 with a big bar. I would love to set the 88 up to place a 36" bar on it and run the same chain as the 66. The drive sprocket can be converted but the bar studs are a different diameter and the chain is thicker. Is there a solution. I have the 88 but only use it occasionaly and dont want to invest in a bunch of new chain for the 88. With a smaller bar I can get much more use out of it. Any suggestions?

Yep thats how I feel. I just need to invest in an extra bar for each saw. Unfortunately I get a few slightly bent bars every time I hire a new guy. I try to keep this from happening as much as possible but sometimes you cant be everyplace all the time.

I have owned my 200t for 5years now and it runs great everyday and all day. if your saw is just bogging down first place i would start is check the spark arrester in the exhaust. Normally due to the constant on and off the throttle the un-burnt exhaust builds up on screen. Theres two solutions to the problem, one just take a torch and burn off the carbon build up on the screen and second solution is to just pull off the screen and never worry about it again.

Good luck
