MS200

$550 w/ a 16" bar and 2 chains here but I'd rather buy from my hometown dealer.

A few weeks ago on a Friday morning my starter pawl stripped out and I had 15 pines to top. I called my dealer... a real live old timey hardware store, and he had the pawl, spring and clip by 1:00P... $6.00. You don't get service like that on eBay.

Don't get me wrong, I buy stuff on eBay, but all my Stihl stuff comes from this one dealer.

Personally, I can't stand ebay. I've had too many problems w/ items not being as described. You buy other peoples problems or end up paying more than what you would spend at a retailer.

I like to stick with the Stihl dealer as well.

I love my local dealer (also a small town dealer). The little extra you may pay for the saw at the dealer is easily made up by the service, the knowledge, and the aide a good dealer provides. Not to mention he is just a good all-a-round kind of guy.

I would go with the dealer. We have one here that we drive 20 minutes out because their so good and always do what you ask for plus more.

Also, about a year back we were in a Flea market and found a slightly used MS200 for $75!!!! Now, we couldn't turn down that deal. Runs good and fine and our dealer will still fix any problems with it.

Well... I just had my first negative experience with my Stihl dealer. I ordered a 3/8" 7T sprocket for my 200T... didn't even ask how much when I ordered it yesterday. Picked it up this AM... $65! Bailey's will order one for $35 and if I read the Sherrill's catalog right, they'll sell one (not sure I can get a 7T) for $15!

I din't talk to the owner yet and he usually knocks off some on whatever I buy... he's my landlord too. We'll see tomorrow when I go back to pay.

On a flea marked everything is HOT unless it's from the attic of an old lady that cleaned out her stuff (BY HER SELF)

Think I would've written down the number on the machine and mailed it to Stihl

Nah, I wouldn't... But I would have had some questions about where it came from before turning the deal down.

It was HOT. Started it in the parking lot and it ran fine. The guy has called us a few other times, trying to sell us Husky's, but we don't use those.

Now I really think it was HOT, RED HOT alright. Hot as in STOLEN from some other treedudes truck.

dealer prices for parts are way way way to expensive, sometimes you get what you paid for but most of the times you can go after market, we bought a new handle bar for our 066 and it was 75 bucks but baileys sells them for 17 bucks. we returned the bar and bought the other and their really isnt much of a difference, i always shop around before buying stihl products because the dealers prices are always high
