MS 460 Bar oil turned form Brown to off white

I put this in the chain saw forum but was getting no responses. Also PM Jackcc but no response either there is a good feeling story in here so I thought I would put it in here. I held a plumb line to this oak and originally was going to put a rope on it but being a hard head I am I thought wedges would do the trick. And a tickle from a 460 was allot more tickle than I expected. Never fell a tree with this saw and the one I was felling with was a Husky 55 Rancher big difference in there tickles. Wedges would have worked if I used a sledge instead of a 2/12lb axe. So read the story and have a chuckle and remember extra safety precautions are always worth the extra time. The tree was about 184' by 30" in diameter. My pride is the only thing that got hurt as soon as I heard the crack I ran like a rabbit I new that sound and it wasn't good. But if anyone has had a problem with a saw like this let me know. And I have dropped many tree over the 20 of heating with wood. Not a beginner mistake just rushing I was trying to beat the weather. And was dying to put that 460 into action.

Not long ago I bought a MS460 from Cheat - Bay. I new the saw had after market fuel and oil caps so I asked the seller if they were and he said no they might have been they didn't have the black line on them. Got the saw gas cap leaking like crazy. Any way I put a dual port muffler on and some west coast felling spikes. Saw ran great and the oiler working fine. Today I was dropping a big Oak for fire wood behind by barn. I was set to put a rope on it but took a plumb line down looked at the tree and it had a little back lean. So I was just going to wedge it over and I had wedges driven in all around the back cut they weren't going in any further so I nibble at the hing which I thought to be at least 2" Long story short nibbled to much the side I was standing on let loose and the tree fell back and to the right missing the barn but taking out the dog kennel. I look up and low and behold she pulled into the drive way just as all that took place. Any way I am in the dog house.
Now the saw was cutting fine the log was laying on big rocks in places I hit one sharpened the chain with a file which I don't do well. I use a chain grinder. Any way refueled the saw for the third time and bar oil as usual. I use the Stihl bar oil never had a problem with it but my chain got dull quickly and I noticed the bar was dry I opened the oil cap and there was oil but it was thin and very light colored off white. So I took the bar off to see what was going on the oil hole was clean.
I started the saw to see if it was oiling and it came out in squirts at mid RPM range I have never seen anything like this before. I am thinking the worst that the crankcase was pushing air in. Or the oiler has some thing wrong. The oil was not only discolored but it was thin and not screaming hot. Please tell me this is a simple fix I bought this saw so I had one saw that I wasn't always working on. And for the power. So a real GRAND day and the weather was cold and drizzling
P.S Forgive me for any grammar mistakes or misspelling I was pretty wound up when I wrote this.
Thanks for your good and funny comment in advance!!

Could be as simple as water in the oil. When water and oil mix (and they do when pumped or vibrated violently) you can get a milky substance that is not only thinner but looses its "stick" to the bar properties making it seem like it's not oiling.
I believe if the crank was leaking air out into the oil you would have other obvious issues with performance.
Drain the saw and check for water, check your oil supply and replace the caps with OEM.

Well it is oiling again but I have it set to wide open and I had it turned back a little I think. My only concern is that when I was adjusting the carb. oil was coming out from under the clutch cover. I have a 25" Stihl bar the oil adjuster only turns 1/2 - 3/4 turn. I'm going to go cut my oak that I will never here the end of until the fencing is all fixed. Should I turn the oiler down a little with that sized bar?
I poured out the old oil and took of the filter not like they showed it in the book. Line just comes to the hole not like a fuel filter. I found no sign of water just some wood chips that were in there when I bought it not enough to clog anything. I don't think. Looking back it took me awhile to get used to my other saws and there little problems.

I cut 3 tanks worth and no problems I let the old bar oil sit and can't see any water. If any was in there if was very little. I am a hurting unit know I have to have my hip replaced and I am only 53 but I saw the pics and I keep telling myself the more I move the better it will be. Its not working I really don't want a chunk of steel down in my leg but I think it will have to be. Thanks guys I don't know were the water came from but some must have gotten in there. I am very happy that was the only problem.
