Looking for opinions on the ms 241.

Just got my new ms back 261 from Brad and it is just plain amazing the transition as I ran it before handing it to him.

I guess I could call Brad but it is almost 11pm...will likely ask him tomorrow.

My main supplier rags on the 241 but he also said the 261 was ok and not MTronic...he was wrong in that latter statement so imo suspect on his other opinion.

This 261 is SO fkn nice I am having trouble giving it to my groundie. Besides that I feel it is a tad too big for a limbing saw and as I mentioned before...I am trying to get out of giving my groundie a tophandle again to stop him from one handing.

The 241 seems the logical choice if it is anything like the 261 (being Brad ed is just plain a given on ALL my saws from now on). One pound lighter and give it a 16" instead of the 18" that is on the 261.

Anybody have any background with this saw even if it is non enhanced by the magician?

I am about to jump on either of these saws depending on the rep of the 241...and then have Brad do both my 241/261 (2nd 261) and my new 461 we have been running for couple of weeks.

I found the 241 quite anemic in stock form. They do respond very well with a simple muffler mod. They turn into a little beast though with the porting I recently developed for them. With its Picco chain, it actually out cuts my ported 346 with .325.

It's the old Husky of comparable size, replaced by auto tune 550, I think.

That is correct. Husqvarna 346XP. IMHO, it's the best 50cc saw ever made. They were replaced by the 550XP, another great saw. The MS261 is in the same class, another great running 50cc saw.

Can't wait to get my saw from Brad Tue. I hope. 241 with basic mod....maybe do the port later when Brad catches up. If this saw is anything like the 261 improvement/... I see it being the perfect groundie saw non top handle. I am so psyched. These new saws are SO cool.

Just got my modded 241 from Brad. We meet off I75 at my exit on his way home from his job in Cinci on way to up near Dayton to his home.

Just as I thought....I couldn't wait and as soon as I got out of the truck I had to fire it up and cut off some of the ends on my pile on my driveway wood racks.

It is an extremely impressive small saw.

Although I had a bunch of saws stolen, like Brad and I were talking, I have completely updated my saw supply (next to buy is the 661 and I gave him my 461 to basic mod). This is no less cool than an Akimbo, Wraptor, Rope runner, log trolley, dingo grapple...etc etc...

These new saws are SO cool! Stihl cannot make them stock the way they are capable of performing for emissions, noise or whatever liberals scratch their heads and decide to complain about next.

But once a saw magician like Brad waves his wand over them they are amazing. Take it from a tree man's treeman (like I like to call Reg)...these new saws are just TOO much fun. This saw flat out fkn cranks!

Today tried out the 261 Snellorized in a crane removal. Unlike you guys we do crane jobs pretty much every other day. But today I brought my sub in as this was just out of reach of my crane and it had a large lead way over primaries.

Well this 261 is just such a SWEET crane saw. I took the top out with my ms 150 and then when into big wood and then trunk wood (about a 30" stem) I had them send me up the 261. They hooked it on the crane ball instead of walking way back and tying it to my cl line.

So now I have BOTH a 261 AND my 150 snapped to my belt. The plan was to send the 1 fitty down but my guys were busy chipping and really...I didn't even notice the weight of the 2 saws on my belt. Must add that if you don't have suspenders on your saddle you are undergeared on crano s anyway.

My crane guy and I have being doing crane jobs together since early '80's.
