mongo stitcht plate

Any one experiment with using a bollard and a large stitcht ring or plate for rigging?

I came a cross a 5/8" forged rigging ring and have been thinking it would make an interesting stitcht plate.

At the very least it would reduce the twisting in our rigging ropes from winding them around the bollard.

Any thoughts on dynamics, letting the loads run or unintended seizing

I don't think that you would be as able to adjust the resistance as compared to a belay tube that can have variable wraps. For the right sized loads, I imagine it would work well, provided you can anchor it in a way that will allow you to have the rope bend/ rope angle that you want.

PS. I just saw your signature. Congratulations on your BCMA!
