MityVac Contamination with DOT3

Those of you who do under the hood work probably recognize the hand pressure/vacuum pump in the title. Perhaps year or two back I thought I ingested a tiny bit of DOT3 brake fluid but passed it off with a shrug. Today I completely effed up and watched it stream into the inlet. At first I thought brake fluid is made for lubricating rubber seals, ought to be ok. Then my conscience got me reading the interscreen and people said it lead to failure and rebuilding. The best I came up with was a rebuild installation instruction sheet that said to lubricate various O rings, barrel etc with silicone oil, which I don't have. However, silicone grease has such oil. I think I recall that rubber types intended for silicone don't like the glycol base in DOT3 and vice versa. So I disassembled and cleaned and the only evidence besides wet with brake fluid was tiny specs of gel or rubbery bits here and there. Coagulated silicon oil? Coagulated brake fluid? Don't know.

Anyone ever contaminate and/or fail their Tinyvac hand pump like I did and how did it turn out?
