mistletoe - what to do with chips?

anybody out there know the possibility of mistletoe being spread by non-composted chips? we pruned 2 big spruces today just full of mistletoe, which is pretty unusual in seattle, and now i have a truck full of mistletoe chips. i usually dump chips at people's houses to be used as mulch, and i'm not sure what to do with these.

anyone..?

thanks,
k.

I don't believe that there's anything to worry about with those chips. The shoots should die shortly after being cut, it can't be transmitted in this way. Mistletoe is a parasidic plant, kill the tree(or limb)...the plant will die.

thanks for that. i found an expert opinion that agrees with you - a doctorate in dwarf mistletoe type who i found on the internet emailed back the same answer! good to know.
thanks,
k.
