Tom, I am in no way expressing support of the video, but I am genuinely curious why you are so quick to lock or delete it after the initial post? There has been no nasty discourse. Other threads spew anger and argument for pages without interruption.

Genuine question about your choice of action here. Please pm me if you don’t feel it’s appropriate to discuss your rationale on the thread.

I appreciate that moderators here stay pretty loose but still step in from time to time to preserve the value that the buzz represents. The tree free zone seems to be even looser than the tree threads, usually.

If this thread ends up being garbage, don’t the members usually do a decent job treating it as such?
 
Most of the moderation is done by me. there are occasional back stage communiques with the rest of the staff too.

I'm getting weary of such fringe topics being hosted on TreeBuzz.com. This whole moon landing issue has been around for decades. What's the point of going over it again? Nothing new. If anyone is interested there are plenty of alt-reality forums, which TreeBuzz.com is not.

What goes on in OT doesn't happen in a vacuum. Some of the noise travels through the whole site. I'm weary of taking my time to moderate such noise.

A careful read shows that when Trump announced a new moon mission in 2017, NASA said give us 11 years, which is 3 years longer than it supposedly took in the 1960s.

On the other hand, the Chinese were a little more realistic when they said it would be 2036 before they could put a man on the moon. This Reuters article was from 2016 showing that the Chinese plan was going to take at least 20 years to accomplish, again in 2010s technology what supposedly was done in 8 years in the 1960s.

Sorry to burst your bubble, common sense is all you need to see that the moon landing was faked. Given the above, there is no other reasonable explanation. Then of course there is Kubrick himself telling you he faked the videos. That's hard to ignore. Maybe not as hard as admitting that you've been duped and then having to ask yourself if I was so easy to fool, where else have I been tricked? What else do I believe that is a complete fabrication?
 
I like Neil Degrasse Tyson's take on this matter: Wouldn't it just be easier to go to the moon than fake it?

They successfully launched Saturn V's as eye witnessed by thousands, if not millions. The Russians tracked it going to the moon. Retroreflectors were placed on the surface. Capsules with burnt heat shields splashed down. We have rocks. And all those pesky photographs and videos.

Was the whole thing faked? Or just leaving earth orbit? Or just going to the surface of the moon? Were Mercury, Gemini, SkyLab and the Shuttle faked too?

Reminds me of the saying - Only 2 people can keep a secret, and that's if one of them is dead.

sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts

examples would be that there if it would take 10 to 20 years to put a man on the moon in the 2010s, there is no way it could have been done in 8 using 1960s technology

another one would be there is no way a coronavirus from bats that started the greatest pandemic in 100 years started in a meat market right next to the only level 4 virology lab in China that was studying coronavirus in bats

or preventing doctors from developing and using early treatment protocols for a novel virus is not a good idea.

or if the government is going to spend trillions in relief money, there is going to be corruption involved.

or tapered hinges do work to create a stronger hinge capable of resisting side lean

Knowing that the interview video has been fact checked and found to be a FAIL for decades is enough for me to know its phony.

Back in 1940, a company called North American Aviation designed the most high performance single engine piston driven aircraft ever built. From the date they were given approval to the date the first P-51 Mustang left the factory, only 91 days had passed.

Today, it takes 30 years to design and build a new airplane. It seems to me it is quite possible that it would take three times a long today to put a man on the moon as it took back then.

That's almost funny that you somehow trust a "Fact checker" more than what you see with your own eyes and hear with your own ears. HOW could that video be anything but what it is. You can read Kubricks lips. The only thing that might me altered is the interviewer's voice. That could have been dubbed. But Kubrick says all that anyone needs to hear on the subject. What if the fact-checkers actually work for the deep state? What if "his daughter and many others" were pressured into "dismissing" the video. And what exactly about the video doesn't stand up to "fact check"?

Can anyone dispute the words that he is saying? If not, then he would have to be lying. SO are you calling Kubrick a liar? Let's get specific. The bottom line is your worldview would come crashing down if you had to finally admit that the moon landing was fake. You wouldn't sleep for a week. Next, you might find out that the US isn't "The greatest country in the world" anymore. And then if you found out that the USA is actually the greatest terrorist organization on the planet, you'd really be screwed. You probably can't handle the truth. You're probably better off in your fabricated world. So much less responsibility.. you can point the finger at Putin and say "he's the bad guy". That's comforting: almost as good as peanut butter and jelly.

It usually takes a decade to properly safely test a new vaccine. But they did it in 9 months, not just with a new product, but with new technology. Common sense says they cut a few corners. But hey, some industry-sponsored "fact-checker" said that vaccines are safe and effective, so of course, they must be. We trust the fact checkers, and big Pharma, even though they wanted to take 75 years to release the raw data from the trials and other information they provided to the FDA.
