Like ive said in other threads, I too have a vermeer. Its AWESOME! I used a bobcat while helping a friend and saw a dingo in use. both were walk behinds and although they got the job done, were a little slow. The ground speed of a vermeer is 4.5mph.
We had a wind storm here back in June and my mini out worked a full size bobcat in time probably 2-1. Sure that guy could pic a bigger peice, but with the manueverability of mine, it was much quicker. And that i could turn around to see what was behind me and coming up on me, it was much safer.
As for putting wood ina truck, ive put some into the back of my chip truck. Its usually the rounds of a trunk. Ill put in two side x side, one on top of each, then push them forward. put in the next and push the first ones in w/ the second. I dont do this very often as I do have a 1-ton w/ a flatbed that dumps. This is what I usually put the wood on.
Ive used my grapple to put wood in my chipper. I dont have a bmg.
I carry both my mini and a sc-252 on a 14' trailer behind the flatbed.
