I agree with everything but this.. sometime a good second pair of fresh eyes can be a wonderful asset. I truly miss waking up clocking in, and problem solving from ground zero. Many times reworking the plan and smoothing things out.

I consistently ask my groundies for their eyes, whether it’s taking tops or doing canopy reductions

The main time that comes to mind with decisions is when I ask them
“are you comfortable running this top / log?”
“Are you happy doing it this way? If you can think of a way that makes life easier for both of us then let me know”

There is a definition of safety:

Identify the hazards
Develop a plan to mitigate them
Execute the plan

If any of these three steps are “out of reach”. Get your krap in a pile before you proceed.
