Mike, Tom Dunlap\'s B-in-law to Super Bowl

I am posting this message on this forum because Tom Dunlap, my brother-in-law, said it was kosher to do so.
I am sending this out to all of my far-flung family and friends in hopes there will be some great people out there that will help me achieve a life-long dream.
I have been a very, very devoted fan of my beloved Seattle Seahawks for all 29+ years of their existence as a NFL franchise. If you knew the lengths I have gone to over the years to watch nearly every game they have played through these 29 fun-filled, and yes too often, frustrating years, you would know why I am sending you this letter.
I have organized Seahawk Fan Clubs in a number of cities where I’ve lived in order to marshal enough bodies to go to a designated bar on Sunday mornings/afternoons in numbers sufficient enough to convince the owner to devote one of their TV’s for our Seahawk viewing pleasure. It was always a labor of love, and took a dogged determination and very, very good luck with avoiding our men in blue on those many, many drives home.
I have gotten up at 2 am in Pusan, Korea in order to watch a Seahawk game that was played two weeks earlier and one in which I already knew every pass that was thrown, every turnover that was suffered, and of course, the ultimate outcome of the game. Still I kept my bleary-eyed vigil.
Now that they have reached the pinnacle of success of winning the right to play in Super Bowl XL, with all my heart I want to be there at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, Feb. 5 to soak in the unspeakable joy of this moment.
Unfortunately, I am not a millionaire and there are some financial limits I must set for myself in pursuing this dream, which is why you are receiving this message.
I am hoping that one of the recipients of this message will know someone in the Detroit area that would graciously allow me to sleep on their couch or floor for the four days, Feb 2-5, that I would like to be in Detroit to experience my first Super Bowl and all of its trappings. I will not be any trouble, and realistically, I won’t be sleeping much anyway; but I will need a home base and simply can’t afford the jacked-up hotel prices that are part and parcel of the Super Bowl experience.
Also, I need to find a ticket to attend the game. Yes I’ve looked at all the online auction sites but they are all beyond my financial means. Don’t get me wrong, I am no pauper and am completely prepared to pay double the face value on any legitimate ticket, and I really don’t care where it’s located. If I just wanted to see the game, I’d stay at home and watch it on my HD home theater set-up. No I just want to be there.
