Might want to sell my Ditch Witch SK650 2011 with brand new block/turbo/etc. in North Florida

Hi folks, turns out I've got a doozy of a family law case coming up. It's an international relocation case. I need a lot of money soon because this case will be over, just 20 days from now, in case the judge grants a move. I'm a super-involved parent, which is why I'm in tree care - the trees generally work around my parenting schedule.

I have a 2011 Ditch Witch SK650 with Branch manager grapple, Stumper 220 grinder, and simple bucket. The tracks are narrow for 36" access and I have a set of wide tracks to throw in as well. There is nothing shady about this machine, except a belt that my Kubota dealer can't get to stop squeeking. There are about 1600 hrs. on it, with several new parts including a new block, turbo, starter, battery, radiator flush, and a few other tweaks. The new parts have 100-300 hrs. on them.

I'm in North Florida and can trailer the unit regionally.

Let me know by pm what you can offer if you are interested. I may find money another way but want to have options in case I can't. Thanks for considering.

Best,
Jon

How much are you looking to get out of it? Personally, I'd sell the tractor before the mini. Best of luck to you in your court hearing

Most units are selling for 10-12k, with high hours. It seems like they are being sold w/o attachments. I'm hoping for 20k for everything but am just open to offers too. I might *need* to sell very low.

I think my buddy might be a little miffed if I sold the mini's Kubota tractor bro, lol.

The grapple has a one-way check valve installed so it's in the same league as the new Altec knuckle boom grapple saw rig advertised in the new TCIA magazine. ;)

@Gerasimek

How can a person get the one way check valve for BMG? And what is a ballpark total cost with install?

Good luck on your court case. (If only it were truly, the justice system.)

The check valve was installed by an experienced former military mechanic nearing retirement age, at a DW dealer. I think he was being very practical on my behalf.

@tnttree was developing a one way bypass about a year ago and I haven't touched base with him since. Apparently only a small number of the grapples open like mine was.

Thanks for wishes on the court case.

It's a joke.

The TCIA article on the new Altec knuckleboom grapple saw unit is, euphemistically, a bit odd for several major reasons. It's also odd for smaller reasons, including a little bit of self-indulgent "brilliancy" over the fact that the grapple has a one-way check valve to prevent the logs from slipping out. This, of course, would be an assumed specification, given its application and design.

For those unfamiliar, a sideways skid rake grapple doesn't have so much need for the one-way check valve because the bottom does not articulate. Only the top does. You set a log on it and it puts its weight/force primarily on the immovable bottom. The further the wood strays from that orientation, the more it needs the one-way check valve.

My joke was to piggyback on said brilliancy in the Altec design by noting that my grapple also has the "cutting edge" one-way check valve grapple technology. I needed to install it because my bmg started releasing logs. So, one could say that my grapple is on the identical cutting edge with the Altec unit, according to the TCIA... :coffe:
