Micro pulley for lanyard adjuster.

I'm mobile so I can't load a pic now.

Using a slack tender makes sense. There are lots of solutions too. The simplest
That I've found is to use an ISC swivel eye biner. The lanyard goes through the eye which becomes the slack tender. The hitch cords are
Terminated on the swivel eye, one on each side of
The lanyard.

Simple, one piece of gear!

Thanks treespotter, that gave me an idea for a use for the idle bat plate. Here is my new test lanyard, seems very smooth and light.

Nice set up swing!

Thanks Blackoak, that thing really works nice and is not bulky like the pinto. Will experiment with some techcord next like the tether that comes with the first wrench. I love streamlined.

Here's my lanyard setup. I use a Petzl Oscillante to tend my hitch. it's really light and compact

That's still very bulky and the plate is forcing the rope around a bend.

You really should try the Rope Slider! Ask Treebuzz sponsor Luke for it at www.treestuff.com.
I love the simplicity of that little 'tool'.

Well used the Batplate lanyard this whole week and it's not smooth like the pinto so back to the pinto next week. What the heck gave it a go for a week. Spotter will check Luke on the Rope Slider, it's not on the website that I can tell.

There it is. I can't believe I remember this stuff.

Geezs... I'm past that phase. I can hardly remember what I have posted here yesterday.

I started that thread and didn't remember I did mention the rope slider before here on the Buzz!!!

I really should stop using petrol powered chainsaws.

I made an adjuster for my non wire core lanyard with an extra eye & eye prusik. I used a prusik hitch on the lanyard, to carabiner, then to my saddle. While trying it out today, it was a real pain to pull slack ................. Anyone have a picture of a better set up?

Since my last post I have been trying other setups for my lanyard. I like the idea of having the hitch climber pulley tending the hitch so that I have the pulley readily available for other uses. Also using the swivel leash seems to position the pulley for maximum capture given the length of my eye to eye split tails. Between the Distel and Michoacàn, I find the Michoacàn to tend best, always holds and releases the smoothest.

Photos and video attached.

I like how this tends and does not release what has been captured

Pinto is nice as well, right now im using the positioner and its like taking candy from a baby.Actually im using both ,on one end it has a positioner and on the other end it has the ce lanyard setup.Just in case i need a 2nd lanyard

Yoyo~ I've never seen a HC pulley in that orientation. Quite interesting. Have you tried it with the prusik/biner in the lowest hole?

Jimmy~ I've done what you're saying with a midline attachable mechanical hitch (GriGri). Put it on when you need it...take it off when you don't. Lately, I've been focusing on climbing with as little gear as possible, and the CE or similar lanyard seems best.

The ART Positioner on one end and the CE Lanyard on the other sounds like the best one could hope for.

My first lanyard (came with the combo kit I purchased) was a wire core with rope grab and it is great if I'm going up with a chainsaw but I mostly climb rec. Then I tried the 2in1 with a micro pulley and 3over3under Pursik, found that to be a pain and an error moving the micro pulley would be lethal. Then I went to two lanyards with the 3o3u prusik. Now (thanks to suggestions here) I'm finding I like the two lanyards with the Michoacàn hitch and with the pine trees I climb that works pretty well.

I find with the pinto or fixed plate pulley and the length of my prusik, when I pull a foot of slack, I only keep about half of that as I release it. No big deal if I was spiking up a tree and not using it much but with the pine trees I climb and climbing up limb to limb, I'm wasting a lot of my effort. (at my age I can't effort to waste any) Also if I use the pinto for my other climbing system I have to take it all apart, where as with the swivel dog leash, I just keep it all together and use the Hitch Climber pulley then reconnect it when I need it again.
Still working on all this and really appreciate the contribution everyone here makes. (past and future)

Short video of lanyard with fixed plate pulley.

Thanks Oceans...
Without the dog leash snap? Yes, but as with the fixed plate pulley, I don't get to keep everything I pull thru the pulley. (video in prior post) I suppose a much shorter e2e like the one they have on the CE lanyard would also be a solution.
If you mean using the lowest hole or the hole to the right (in my photo) of the HC pulley.......I just tried that and it is an improvement. It gets the pulley that much closer to the hitch and seems to stay in place between pulls.
ANOTHER GREAT SUGGESTION, THANKS.

As I always say a lanyard is about personal preference, climbing style and the variety of tree being climbed most. Yoyo that is pretty cool how you used the dogsnap and HC. Too much for me but ingenious non the less.
