micro inject

Looking to by a micro injection system. Just wondering what system(s) everyone uses. The Wedgle direct-inject system looks to be better then arborject system as far as time and invasivness to the tree are concerned.

In our opinion, the Wedgle makes a great paper weight and conversation piece. Landscape mtc companies love it though because it appears to be very scientific and looks like you are really "doctoring" the tree.

Follow the first rule of doctoring: First, do no harm. If you can soil drench (non-invasive) but it takes slightly longer to apply, why not stick with it over micro injecting (invasive). I think the less we do "to" trees, the better off the trees will be after we are gone....Rebecca

I just spent some time on their website and watched vids too.

The system only pentrates the bark and chemicals are applied under the bark. That's in the phloem area.

How effective could that be? The phloem travels downward to the roots. What about chemicals going upwards to the branches/leaves etc??

I suppose if you were injecting for root decay that might be OK but it doesn't seem right to me.
