Mental Barrier

Today, ar approx. 10:30 a.m. , I stepped from one pine tree to another in my front yard.
I have lived here almost 11 years and have been out on the tip of that branch many many times only to stare at the other tree, mocking me from 4 feet away.Sure, I have done it using a monkey fist in the tail of my line and adding a secong tie in, small bit of throwline, pre installed second line, but NEVER just reaching/jumping over to it caveman style. The problem has always been with commitment, It is an extreme rope angle and if you miss, the swing/ fall could be messy....for various reasons.
Well 11 years it took me to do it....today, with the peer pressure of much better climbers beneath me, I DID IT!
I did that same dance Jersey did after rescuing Kevmo.
Its like a huge weight has been lifted and I no longer have to dwell on it.

So...you know....I am awesome

Nothing like some good ol' peer pressure to bring out the best in us!

That's right, you're awesome.

The caveman jump is pretty intimidating. I've had a similar weight slide off my shoulders lately. It's been a year since the red maple incident and I think my dead tree jitters are finally going away. It's been easy to climb more aggressively in the last few weeks.

By the way, where's the video?
