Matt Cornell Rope Saddle

Your hips will think they are in a lazy boy recliner in this saddle.
ehhhhhh....i quit wearing mine oldoak because it was leaving bruises on my hips. same thing the previous owner I bought it from was experiencing. stupid purchase on my part but i assumed that because everybody's different, maybe it wouldn't happen to me. it's possible it's a fluke, but i got tired of throwing time and money at it to resolve the issue. never got a FB response from the inventor so....really enjoying the super-comfy new alternative whose initials are TM :)

Thanks Justin. I just ordered mine. :boxeador:
But I will stick with the opinions from the guys I know here.
And they're all good when worn properly.

You just have too bony hips is all. Nice to see you around, was wondering where you went. Hope all is well in C-ton.

I'm at the same spot Justin. They are both comfortable but if you carry the kitchen sink with you when climbing then I think the TM might be better suited. Or at least that is the way I am leaning after my Onyx retires.
My experience is the reverse frank, fully geared up with a couple slings, biners, doodads gizmos and a chain saw, my cornell is the winner. For rec climbing, competition, and handsaw pruning the TM is unbeatable, for me

Having both, I still prefer the MCRS over the TM for gear heavy removals or tip access on trims. The TM is a great harness but the MCRS is better.
I would like to see pictures of those with hip pain issues. The mostt common cause is having the side D's too far back but up or down position can also be a factor.

my MCRS should be arriving tomorrow. I'll be home for the day working on new sides for my little dump truck. This time Santa's arriving early in a brown truck. I CAN'T WAIT! :)

Hey guys the brown sleigh, er the truck I mean, showed up around 11:30. I immediately broke it out of the box and put it on. As mentioned before in everyone's posts it's a little hard to slip your feet through the leggings. That's my only complaint and I'M NOT COMPLAINING! This saddle is frigging awesome! I grabbed a 60' remnant of one of my three strand climbing lines and proceeded to the back yard. Eyed down a young 50' red oak and tossed my rope about 20' up into a good crotch. I tied a Blakes hitch and climbed up DRT. I never even bothered to tie up my hiking boots. Just left the laces tucked in the boot. WHAT A RIDE! I went up that 20 some feet like I was floating on a cloud, or so to speak lol. I didn't have time to mess around so I went back down and put the saddle back in the box. Finished working on my dump truck and went to a wake after. Tomorrow, after I'm done working, I'll put it back on and make some minor adjustments, and trim the dead out of that oak with the hand saw. Afterwards I'll start switching over the gear from my old saddle. I give this baby a 5 (y)(y)(y)(y)(y) rating.

Oldoak, great idea. Reminds me of Home Depot's earlier days when they had the electric heated knife in their "rope" section.
Steve, I plan on whipping the ends ounce I get it adjusted to my liking. There are a few more oaks in the backyard that need light pruning. Our landlord is getting some freebies lol.
I have to thank everyone for their input on this saddle. A special thanks to TooMuchSawdust on his thread "Tell me something stupid you did." This is where I got my first clue the MCRS exists. And again, Steve, thank you for all your imput in this thread here. If it wasn't for you guys I'd still be old schooling it. I now look forward to climbing again .... without discomfort!
