Matt Cornell Rope Saddle

Ok I need help I have tightened up the legs straps and they still seem to find their way to my nuts. Painfully there might I add. There has got to be a way to fix this. I have shorted the bridge a bit but have no idea how to get a little better balance between legs and back pull. I seem to get nut crush or nothing. If I can't get this thing dialed in I am going to have to own a TM just so I can compare.

IMO … loose is better, as Steve mentioned. I like mine very loose, too. It will feel wrong if you're coming from harness that is designed to be worn "tight". My last harness was a New Tribe ProGear 2 - designed to be loose. So, it was a natural transition. For me, the ProGear adjustment instructions {link} seemed to work quite well for setting up the MCRS.

Think 'hammock' not 'corset'.

I will give that a go. Do you guys worry if the knots that hold the side Ds in place are pressing against the webbing. Are they too far forward at that point? I don't believe mine are pulling on it just pressing against when loaded.

Probably the big asset of the MCRS is also its biggest negative. The adjustability and strength of knots. So along with being able to infinitely adjust you must also anticipate changes that will occur with the time it takes for the knots to fully set.

You do not want excessive load on the webbing rope keepers, that is not their job.

I have to go back and read this whole thread but I should have my MCRS saddle soon. You guys that have them and went through fitting and adjusting it are there any secrets or tips on where things should go to make life easy.

Wow I did not have those results I have ties and untied those knots a hundred time or so it seems but I am getting close the biggest thing I have learned is wear the belt much higher than I was. What a difference that made. Also like Steve has said a dozen times keep the leg straps loose.

The transporters are awesome. I think it's the Kong paddle that can very easily made to work just as well. I used a few pieces of throw line to anchor it up but it has been working great. It is a very robust saddle and I like that. One of my gripes is nothing is anchored to nothing. While that is a good thing at times it can be a pain at others

Climb Right paddle biners work better than the Kong's. Kong has a pin gate that catches on any little thing. Climb right has a key gate so nothing catches. They are a bit cheaper too. I have 4 of them and my only issue with them on the MCRS is they tend to spin on the attachment loop, but that is about to change when I get my TS order tomorrow.

I went size 2 all around, Nick suggested starting there with my dimensions and we can always swap parts if it seems to big. Still hasn't shipped yet, I was busting Joshes stones earlier today about that.

Which are the red/pink ones??

Okay so 4 hours in the saddle today, including some adjustments. Not sure yet, I really like it on spars but not so much just hanging in the saddle. Might have to try a Treemotion out. At the moment I would go Onyx for working and then swap to MRCS for extended spar work. Not sure it won't be a treebay item in time.

Hang on frank I was in your boat not long ago here is my advice pick up the phone call me or call Steve. Both of us can help you. @DSMc can tell you the best part of this saddle is adjustability and the worst part is the adjustability. Truly I felt the same way and am much more on the fence about likening it now. I would really like to try a TM just to compare but it's not in my budget at this time.
