Mark in the Dark

Mark in the Dark - For those that didn't get a chance to see Mark finish his Master's climb don't feel so bad none of us including the judge's could see it either. It was dark when he finally finished. How he knew where he was going was a mistery to all. How you can finish the Preliminary events at two thirty in the afternoon and not get the Men's master's climb until almost eight o'clock will forever be the big question. I felt so sorry for Mark to have to wait and wait and then after all was said and done he comes out on top.

My question exactly..

After the conclusion of the pre-lims their was a head to head competition footlock climb (Men and Womens)after that their was the womens master's three climbers total. Then they had to finish setting up the men's master's climb because it was in the trees next to the women's climb. The ropes to keep the crowd back also had to be rearranged. All of this took time to set up.
I must commend the group responsible for shortening the overall program and getting the pre-lims finished so far ahead of schedule. Just sorry all of the momentum was lost towards the end. Mark waited a long time and then when it was his time to shine the sun had gone to sleep . The moon was up for the awards presentation that was done with the aid of truck headlights.
My suggestion would have been to postpone the head to head footlock climb and maybe consider alternating the womens and the mens climb so that neither of the two groups has to be the last group. A little better planning would have prevented this situation. IMO
