Man cuts tree

Your ground guy routinely stand that close to the porty? He must not appreciate having all his fingers? All small stuff, but that's not to say stuff still can't be misjudged.

Nice job and nice video. I don't think you've posted it before. Looks like it was a pretty tight area to work in. I thought the ground guy did a great job, it was nice you guys were able to lower that little trunk without you having to come down to make the cut.

Looking good Nick, keep posting I like to watch a smooth tree video especially tight space one's because that is all I ever get to work with. Well most of the time anyways.

Thanks guys!

As far as fast as hell, it was obviously sped up video :) :), I imagined I would get some opposite comments regarding the handsaw vs using a trim saw the whole way up!

Thanks again for the feedback everyone

In that scenario a sharp cutting Silky is a good choice in my book. Why lug 8lbs, the size of the branches decides what tool I would use. Some would disagree I am sure but hey to each his own right.

Nice to be able to trust and work as a team with your groundie. Nice work on his part, though the porty would be a lot easier to work, like that, if it was set low to the ground. Also a strap on that climbing saw will pay for itself 100x in time saved and make your job a little easier all day long.

That last top looked like it came mighty close to the roof/gutter etc... lot of guys freak out at that kind of work when shown on youtube.. Its either a rookie that got lucky or someone with enough experience to know exactly where that top is going.. You've got the benefit of the doubt on that cut, especially if your groundie has that much experience.. Good stuff, love to see it!

The next "wood" cut is a little more iffy cause of the stubs.. groundie managed OK, but surprised he let you leave all those stubs.. they can spin and catch a window, gutter, siding etc.. or hit the trunk and cause a funny bounce. there is no reason to leave them. Make those cuts back at the trunk in 1 if you can, or at least loose the stub on anything close like that. One less thing to go wrong.
