An old, but good story came to mind today.
Back in '93 when buying my wife a new car, we're sitting at a desk with the salesman to sign all the paperwork. I see they added some $50 BS charge on top of the out-the-door price I negotiated. I ask the salesman what the charge is, and he gives me the "Oh, that's just the such and such charge" load of crap. I said that makes the price $50 higher than what we had agreed upon. He gives some BS justification for the charge, at which point I get up out of my chair and say "C'mon honey, let's go." He exclaims "You're not going to let $50 keep you from buying this car, are you?" I quickly replied "No, you're going to let $50 keep you from selling this car."
He drew a line through the bogus charge and took it off before we could leave. I did buy the car.
