I have known (like most of you) people in my life that have gone from working for someone to saying they have had enough of it for one reason or another so they are going it on their own. After leaving CAN USA (my dream job for so long.... took me 5 years of trying to get it) and having to leave it due to family reasons I came back to the tree world to work for an outfit near to my home. My wife had asked me to apply but I was not really all about it from the start, but I applied anyway. Off the rip I knew it was not going to be a good fit for me personally ( not saying it would not be perfect for others, because it would be), but I got the job and had stayed there for the last 3 years and change. I reached my breaking point this past week and let them know I would be moving on and that it was most likely for the best on both sides. It came to a point that I knew with not having myself all in on what the company was doing and moving towards I would be more of a cancer to the greater goals then a productive part. I have been over the past few years building a foundation of work and networking to take the next step, and now I am hear.... the talk ends for me and my actions now have it's time to produce. Long story long, I am going into business for myself with video/photography marketing with a heavy focus on the climbing professions ex: Tree world, Industrial, Rescue. Cheers to the future and cheers to never sleeping EVER AGAIN!!!
This is some clips from my first solo day. Gilded Tree Experts with climber Dan Lawton had to remove trees from the ruins of an old castle in Pennsylvania so the building could be rebuilt once more. This was a studio for a painter that was contracted in the late and early 1800-1900s to oil paint the portraits of Presidents and other world leaders. As a gift from the Emperor of China for painting him a few of the plantings on the property that are still there were given. Cool place for sure. I was tasked with photographing the day but grabbed some film in between drone photos.
