Machine to haul 8k chipper in woods?

Job’s all done and going to be barging the gear off hopefully tomorrow. We used a Case Tr310 (~8800lbs) with a fabbed hitch plate.

On levelish ground there was no issue, and we leap-frogged plywood for the sandy beach for the chipper tires. Pushing the chipper (8k lbs) up a steep hill needed an extra pull from the mini to do it. Would have thought the Case would do it alone but thankfully brought 300’ spool and a block.

The plate worked like a charm and good visibility for the uneven terrain. Sean did all the driving like a champ and chipper is back by the beach for pickup with no dings or scratches.ECF3CD6D-F798-4A47-A66F-D4B838BDE092.jpegF69B9564-7DEC-4F7F-A036-C3C698BB9444.jpeg

Nice looking equipment, job go well?

I've done some island jobs with landing crafts on the beach as well, the boat company had long rubber mats to lay across the sand and we just put the truck (towing the chipper) in 4x4-low and floored it off the landing craft, over the matts and up the hill to dry land, haha.

Thanks, the physical labor part of it went well and not tons of hours with so much of the job being commute and logistics. Had a motor shaft shear on the mini which added some messing around, barge got stuck a few times, extra visit with Codes office etc etc. Really enjoy working offshore esp after summer folks go home.
