Good clip but it's a sad day when habitat destuction is common enough for a bird to imitate it. I did some reading and it's not endangered anymore, so maybe Australia's habitat protection programs are working.
As much as I like and respect David Attenborough...
That is BS!!!
How loud are those cameras? The bird may have better hearing than humans but I imagine you'd have to get REAL close for it to pick up the camera. Even if you were sitting in a blind, as soon as the camera clicked, the bird would take off in a panic of flapping wings and could not make out the full cycle of the camera. I could almost believe the chainsaw... but we also hear a hand saw, like a cross-cut- back and forth, back and forth- baloney!
Hey, if I'm wrong, Great! The world is very strange, but many things need to be questioned... this is one of them.
I know it's somewhat incredulous but I think it's real
For what it's worth, when we were living out West we noticed the Mocking birds in our neighborhood would do car alarms quite often - nothing close to the Lyre bird, but they did have the cadence and approximate sounds down quite well - guess that also is an indicator of the neighborhood we lived in
