I finally won the coin toss on who will use the computer. If only I can keep my husband from the computer, I will hopefully post more.

Toni, do what I did...I bought him his own laptop!
I called up Dell and said I wanted to place an order. They asked what I needed...I said "I NEED my computer back!!!"
Hello all, I am Sylvia (S Mc) other half of David (D Mc). I am a Certified Arborist who has definitely caught the learning bug. It has been just the two of us and after years of simply being my husband's helpmate I gradually came to the realization that his profession had become my profession. (He has climbed for 40 years and I have been working with him in the field for 24.) But I was very intimidated to "go for" the certification as I am not a "climber". He is an extremely talented, very experienced high climber and there is no way I am suddenly going to replace that capability. But he did show me how to climb and when our schedule permits I practice.
Meanwhile I am the ground crew, liaison, bookkeeper, co-estimator (we collaborate on everything). I feel it is indespensible to have someone on the ground that can give knowledgable feedback on how a tree is shaping out from the viewpoint of the client PRIOR to the climber coming down. So I consider this an important asset.
I just gave a walking Tour of Trees for Arbor Day at a local historic mansion and found that immensely enjoyable. And hope to promote more events along that line for public education.
I am pursuing my education through Prof. Bob Underwood's online classes at the Univ of No. Dak. and hope to achieve the Urban Forestry Tech diploma they offer on my way to pursuing BCMA classification. As I am 55 years old I am hoping I have not left this too late.
I have been a BIG fan of the ladies here, Kathy H., Bermie, Kiah and Wenda among others and stand in awe of the ladies who do this type of physical work day in and day out (and feel their pain).
Looking forward to getting more vocal (it is a bit intimidating) and share my viewpoints on tree work.
I am constantly amazed at how much information is out there and David and I both benefit by these forums.
