ron why is it sooo hard to just admit you hired cowboys with chainsaws and move on???? stop trying to justify yourself. it wont work here at tree buzz and just to let you know these guys are truly some of the best and most professional arborist in the world. you trying to argue with them just makes you look under educated. why even post what you posted if you knew the reactions most of these people would have towards your situation.

Ron I'd like to think that if circumstances found me away from home, doing a tree job, and situationally over my head, I could post my problem on Treebuzz, and hope to get either direct assistance, or a referral from people whose expertise and opinions I respect. We all appreciate, and want to stand up for each other. I've seen it time and time again. There are just no better people than you find in the field of arboriculture.

I'm sure that, with as much insight into climbing and tree work as you have, it had to have been disheartening to be dug in deep, out of time and to feel that your only options involved trying to choose the lesser of evils.
