Looking for info on hitch cord.

Ok thanks for your advice..i originally never Planned on even trying. Planned on tying double fisherman's. But im going to atleast try 1 see how it feels. I think its doable for me but could be wrong. But ive seen a few vids that show you step by step so i think i can. Just waiting for my hitch cord.
Honestly I prefer making my own with a double fisherman's. Eye splices only leaves so much usable cord for the actual hitch because it swells and becomes stiff where the bury is at. Plus I van never seem to get the perfect length pre-made and it gets a little pricey trying a bunch of them. I like my hitch to be tight and compact as possible when im climbing on a wrench

Yeah i get it. I feel ill prob like it more aswell. Im already used to stopper knots from using a hh2 for my srt. I loved the rope wrench still do for everything other than spar work. I use my hh2 for spar work. Because i can sinch it right up on the spar take a little pressure off my legs n feet. But ive been wanting to try the rw with a custom short tether. Shorter than the lawton. Like a 5 inch tether. If you could get it that short may be nice. Wes spur didnt reccomend any shorter than the 7.5 lawton tether. Suck rw is my favorite setup over all but thats just me. But i haven't tried alot of mechanicals just because theres always a risk with failures. Hybrids seem to be my favorite. I consider rw hybrid because you use it with hitch cord

With that short of a tether, don’t you have to push the wrench up to not jam up hitch, if so not my idea of ideal.
A compact option, you decide how the hitch functions, not the length of cord with a preset length. These have the stopper in the wraps, can be located near carabiner also. They are 4-2 VTs.

I honestly dont know. I haven't tried. But im sure you would. Was just wishing there was a way you could with it not interacting with the hitch. One of my favorite setups. Just didnt do well on a spar with it. And yeah ive been wanting to check out some of these crazy setups ive seen you post. Crazy in a good way. They look so unique. They look just as compact as a hitch on the hitch hitchhiker. Thats what i coukd use some advice on too. What hitches do you run on a hitchhiker? I feel you have 1 because ive seen you in a thread talking about 1 but i could be wrong?

You should try a unicender then. You can get it into a pretty tight space using it srt. Thats what I've been climbing on the most here lately

Yeah i have thought about. Only thing i dont like about the uni or akimbo is once you wear it out its done. Unless you know where to send it to get it redone. But idk how much that cost prob better off buying a new 1. But i have wanted to try both of them. The akimbo more. Think about spend 300 to make what ever you make in a year its worth it. And could last more than a year idk depends how much your using it.

But as far as a short tether for the rw I haven't heard of any shorter than about 10" can only go so short then the wrench interferes with the hitch. I have a 10" for mine and I have to use Michoacan or distel or one thats really compact

I like my uni for srt. Ive tried it ddrt but id rather just climb with a hitchclimber . My only complaint is the way you have to wrap your tail around it to rapel but once you get the hang of it its not too bad. And tending slack is kind of a pain. Wanted to buy the mods for it but Richard mumford stopped selling them on climbibg innovations. He doesn't even have the hhx on there anymore. Just the saka

Wes spur has the lawton. Its 7.5. Yeah id use the distel aswell. I haven't tried the lawton yet but i might. I got rid of my wrench to a buddy that wanted to start srt. Just haven't picked up another yet. But when i do im definitely getting the lawton

Yeah i feel the exact same about the uni. Thats why i was leaning towards the akimbo more. I went back to my hitch climber aswell. I had a spiderjack 3 was great just didnt really like the thumb brake. So im using my hitch climber for ddrt and hitchhiker for srt. I like it does what i need.

Right thats what i was thinking aswell. My other lanyard i use a distel and triple attachment pulley to use it as a climber as i work my way up switching from actual climber to lanyard. Ok ill be testing out icetail and tennex to make a hip prusik for my 2 in 1. But will have other cords soon if they dont end up working. Thanks. Oh yeah where did you end up getting your bulk ultra tech anyway.? Was it wes spur or somewhere else. I definitely want some after the way you talk about it.
Treestuff has it.

Armour prus is really smooth, bailout is nice, beeline is good, ocean poly is good. RIT is too slick/ stiff IMO, never could get reliable grabbing out of that cord.
