Looking for a source for 7/8” Manila wire core flip line

Good evening, I’m trying to find a source for the old school Manila flip line that used to be popular in the woods and is still used pretty often for competition speed climbs with gaffs. Madsens had it listed but they don’t have any in stock, it’s backordered. Nobody else has it listed that I can find. Does anyone know of a source for it? I need a 15’-20’ if possible 28400D1B-5C13-43B4-A586-B6281FBFAA53.jpeg

Madsen's is the only place I know of that still sells them. You could try making your own?
I actually just found it. Greenshields industrial out of Everett’s carries it by the foot. Just ordered enough to make myself a couple nice long ones. Probably order about 50 more feet in a couple weeks so I don’t have to worry about running out

As someone who ran 7/8" manilla wire core flip-lines for a couple decades I would recommend you think about going with 3/4" instead...You will feel very little difference between the 3/4" and the 7/8", and it is fairly easy to get a rope grab that will handle the 3/4" rope. With the 7/8" you are most likely gonna be using a becket hitch on your side dee which is a royal pain in the ass compared to a more modern setup...I would also consider going straight 3 strand with no cable...Super strong. Can splice an eye on one end and a back splice on the other in about 5 minutes. Cheap and very easy to find. Won't rot like manilla. Rolls up tree better than anything I have ever used.

I have seen 3 men fall out trees because they cut their flip-line and all 3 were using wire-core...The myth that wire-core is gonna save your life if you do something really stupid is just that... A myth....

I actually started to order the 3/4 non wire core 3 strand from Baileys before I found the 7/8. This is more about experimenting, climbing is a side gig for me, I carry insurance and everything but I work a 40 hour a week job doing engine installation on wake boats so I’m free to pick and choose what trees I want to do, which means the majority of my work is climbing and falling big removals in tight areas. A local friend let me try his 7/8 wire core and I really liked it so I wanted to try my own. I’ll be using a 3 strand hip Prussik for adjustment instead of the suicide knot for the most part. And I just got the wire core for stiffness, I run a wire core 5/8 most of the time and I think people put way to much weight on the ability of a flip line to shrug off a saw cut. I always use two tie ins if it’s at all possible, and I keep my saw the hell away from my tie ins and pay attention where my bar is. Thanks for the info man, I always like talking to guys with experience who have been getting it done for years

Nothing feels as good in the hand as some 7/8".. I have a big pile of 7/8" manilla flip-lines that I still use with a goold old becket hitch when I get into stuff 7ft-8ft or bigger, which isn't very often these days...Remember to keep that stuff dry or it will rot very quickly....
