Log and crane truck owners, what is your wheelbase

Re: Log and crane truck owners, what is your wheel

You'll think you're crazy for spending that kind of cash on a tree truck, then you'll take it out on a job and you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner! The only thing i would've done different is is go bigger on the crane, but since your brother has a crane this isn't an issue for you and saves payload and 50k! I'm bummed that your effer dlr didn't return your email. I know in the 50 ton- 100 ton range the effer blew all the others away by a long shot for about the same money. That hooklift set up looks "hamn dandy" that truck is going to be as versitle as a transformer toy! Hey Mark Chisholm, i really could've used your grapple today (drainage ditch job!)

Re: Log and crane truck owners, what is your wheel

thanks Mark.

Mike, yeah, 50 grand more would be too much for me.

"transformer toy", someone else made that comparison the other day.

I'll post pics in March.

Here's the final log. I am amazed at how strong the grappel is. It is a little nerve racking to move this log over the house though.

Nice pics, Mark. You haven't posted many lately....need more pics of GTW!!!

What did you do with those logs, as in tub grinder, or firewood, etc.

Those look like 45' trees right? Well, they started growing here. 30' below grade in this foundation that was never finished after the owner passed away. Seth here rappeled into the hole to make all of the cuts.
