Lockjack cams wearing faster than norm...

I've been using lockjack sports for the last 8 yrs..
I normaly had to change my cam around once every 4-6months..
In the last 6 months i've gone through 3 cams..
Anyone know if ART are using softer/cheaper aluminium???

By the way people if you need spare parts? it costs half the price to get them from the UK even with shipping..

Does your rope have dirt embedded? Do you like the lockjack? I tried one and did NOT like it. ( thought it would be great for burning down crane picks......actually would rather just use ocean p or bee line with a vt or michoacan)

I used the lock jack for a while. I like climbing with it but its too slow to put on and off for the crane.

Dirty rope?? maybe, i'll try washing it in the lake.. But i've worked on building sites and never had this sort of problem..
Yeah i love my lockjack..
What did you not like about it?? You need to bed the cam in, or the first couple of drops is a bit stop/start.
Thats what seems to put a lot of new LJ users off.
No sit back like a knot, self tendering once you have a 10 feet of rope under you.
There is lots of little tricks, like for limb walking i pull the rope through from above my LJ, insteed of body thrusting-just wear a pantin.
