Locked Brummel both eye to eyes on hardware?

Ok, I've concluded that the ring absolutely has to go through.

I'm playing with tenex so it's a lot more for forgiving that whatever rope is in your original pic, Nick.

I did the small ring side first, and put the large ring on the other end leaving a long tail. I put the small ring through the braid by pulling strands to create a large opening for the ring. When I was done I pulled them back toward the tail.

Right track?

With a loose braid like tenex it wasn't bad. With whatever rope yours is it would take a bit of time to get everything back nice and purdy.

I took it apart after. It would have been a 20' 1/2" tenex friction saver. Not much use for that. :)

What rope did you do yours with? I'll get some and try it with that.

its just an idea, if the cordage is the right diameter, something like this would work, this was 6mm vectran 30" long, and just a simple ring to show the concept.

brummel one end, then a whoopie type bury, then cross the tails.

Every design is an explosion in reverse, so this just a prototype thought.

I can't quite tell what's going on but it seems you've accomplished the same as a locked brumel on one side and some crazy funkiness on the other.

I like the purple in the rope!

its just like a fully closed whoopie on the one side, with just tuck on the tails.

I think you could just tuck them both in, just makes the one side abit fatter.

the purple thread is there to define the diameter of the vectran, i got alot of it...great stuff it is 3350kg mbs.
