Linden Removal

Thanks everyone for the positive comments

You wear out a groundie!

I knew I was going to bury him. Told him to try and manage it as best as he could. We tag teamed it when I got down.

With the limbs road side with linden I hinge on the sap wood, let the tips point to the ground, finish the cut and punt the butt to the curb or push em off.
Its nice feeling to hit the ground and know most limbs do not need a spin 180 degrees to meet the chipper. Grab n go!

Good stuff and keep em comin.
Like the tune. Who dat?

Artist is Seether ~The Gift

The artist info hasn't loaded yet. Actually got it through the YouTube music selection. I was surprised Seether was available.

That's thinkin' like a true pro! Any and everything you can easily do to make the job that much faster, safer and easier... On that note Casey... do the math on those stubs sometime.. how many stubs x "time to make the seconds cuts" + time to handle all those loose pieces.. it really adds up... over the course of a lifetime..

Always enjoy your vids.. Thanks for taking the time to make it happen..

nice clear video, nice fast movement to the video, good editing.

a few questions, just don't take questions as negatives, as I can think of several reasons why on most of my questions.

1. Why did you leave that lower limb on the linden? It almost caused a falling limb to spring onto a groundperson that was not paying enough attention.
2. Why did you tip tie that first one that you showed rope rigging on? It was "given" some, then stoped, seemed dangerous.
3. Why was the brush not being cleaned up before more brush dropped? Good for chunking logs, i see that part.

And also out of curiosity, why did the owner have a nice linden cut down?

Please don't take as negative, it was a nice video and I usually can't bear to watch more than 30 seconds of a regular tree guys video; a watched the whole thing, so thumbs up.

Daniel while going through the editing I was thinking the exact same thing. On this job I was a stuboholic. Some of them were from what was most comfortable while making the cut with a chainsaw. But some of them your are right didn't need a stub.

Also on this job we cut the ends off almost all the branches because the person getting the wood wanted as much as possible. We went wood heavy. So all those stubs were taken as wood.

Thanks for watching.

I know what limb you are talking about. How I worked it was climbed to the top to set my tie in point/ rigging line and worked bottom up. My only thought was I got carried away on one stem and didn't turn around to see what else is around me before moving up

My goal with that piece was to take as much as possible and direct it away from the house because without rigging I don't think I could free cut it and direct it away. I had the rigger Logan stop the piece because it was hung up. My fault for not getting the butt to fall off and down. I should have just pushed if off instead of cutting it to fall.

This job was something of a subcontracting job. The guy on the ground has no experience running a chipper. His grandpa is the one that hired us for the job and his grandson (entire family are friends of our family) helped on the ground. I wasn't comfortable with him running the chipper especially our old chuck and duck (new morbark coming Dec) So I did the chipping. Told him to manage the brush as much as possible.

Still don't have an answer to this one. I talked with the homeowner about what this tree does for his property before I started up. Again was called in to cut it down. I hate doing it. When you are contracted to do a removal the decision has already been made, unfortunately.

Not a problem. Love when questions are asked. Part of the reason I post, to get opinions and start a discussion.

Glad you watched the whole thing and had time to weigh in. I know how busy you are with work and your new product. Could have used the x-rigging rings here.

Thanks again for watching.

Aside from having the groundie bend over twice as much to pick up half branches from stubs, they can pose a potential hazard. Not a concern on a linden removal, but a broad canopy tree could be painful. An accidental, or intentional, swing gone awry could leave you poked good by a homeade arborist pungee stick. Nice video though, keep them coming
