In case any of you know of or are involved in situations that have led to a court case or possible legal battles, I have been in court twice now, and have a third coming up in April. I have been to the stand both on the defendents and the plaintiffs side with regards to tree issues.
This type of work if you will isn't for everyone, but now that I have worked with a few different attorneys and have some feel for the flow of things, I want other arborists to know that I am willing to do more.
I have a degree in Forest Resources from the University of Minnesota (sorry Mark, but go Gophers hockey and MN Wild!)with emphasis in soil science. I am ISA certified, have a WI pesticide applicators license, a memberr of WI Arborist Association. I am the consulting arborist for St. Croix Electric Cooperative in Western Wisconsin, and write a quarterly newsletter article for them. I have reresented them twice in court.
My business is Tree Releaf out of Green Lake, WI. I climb many days a week, and bring in the necessary personnel and equipment when needed. I have worked with Sean Gere, Tom Dunlap, Nick Araya, JP Sanborn, Brian Kotwica amongst others. We have used 25,40 and 70 ton cranes.
One other interest I have but have not done any of late is public speaking and presentations. Due to the fact that my wife is my business assistant and we have three young boys, I haven't projected this part of the business for some time, but within a year or two, we will do more of this ans I want people to know that i have doen speeches for various groups in the past (Master Gardeners, MNDot planting days, etc.)
As we all age, we either keep working harder, or we do our best to work smarter. I am at that point where I am trying to find that balance bewtween the two. The brain needs the workout! Keep me in mind and pass my name and business name around.
Climb with ease and the greatest of safety, all.
