Is anyone else dealing with the explosion of lecanium scale on crabapples?
What treatment methods are you using and timing of applications?
Evidently its an annual re-infestation here in Central Ohio these days.
I am so close to telling customers I don't treat junk trees. I have pruned a couple decent crabapples over the years, but in general I think they require way to much maintenance for a large sucker of a tree.
I'm assuming well timed oil sprays are the most eco friendly treatment method?
Has anyone used azasol as a soil drench for scale and would it be a less destructive alternative to the neonics?
