I like 16 strand as well. Once you get the hang of it it is easier than the older 3/8 beeline. I rubbed the skin off my hands trying to get be line to bury.

Try using some hitch chord.

I was using a prussic loop to help on the final bury but there is a portion where I felt like I had to use my hands. The cover bunches up a little with the prussic then I use my hands.

I also dont like doing core to core splices in high tech double braids, but that is a rare one I don't often have to do.

Getting the core bury to go though on 8mm ocean has caused my a lot of frustration. I have figured out a few tricks to make it go more smoothly but it is still quite a process.

I have found pre tapering the throw away portion of the core tail prior to the bury helps. Then after stretching out the bury hole with a fid I thread the splicing wand though from the core bury exit to entrance and tape that to the tapered core and pull rather than push it though. Still takes me 1.5+ hrs to make an eye and eye prussic out of the stuff.
