Leaf curl in Beech Fagus grandifolia

Hi all,
New to this site but hanging around the treehouse and AS for awhile. At the garden that I work at we have a grove of Fagus. The leaves are just starting to harden off. Some of them are becoming curled, bumpy, and splotchy in color. Sorry no pics as of now. At first I was thinking of frost damage, but a lot of the trees are protected and it doesn't seem that widespread. Inside the curl of some of the leaves is a little white creature, not really sure what, could be secondary. Has anyone else encountered this and do you know what it is? Thanx for your help.

Went out and found the little bugger that is eating the leaves. It is a leafhopper of some sort. Glad it is not a disease. Thanks
