Re: Re Large Dead Tree

Just curious, what did you charge to flop that huge one that appeared to be in the middle of nowhere..?

Re: Large tree

a stopper knott in their split-tail might b a good Idea, ive had one roll out b4! (I use a fig 8 when I climb lith one) learning to controll fear is the toughest part, looks like the kid has great potential:)

Re: Large tree

I'd advise shortening the distance from the block to the anchor location on the piece being roped. Tons of potential for excessive shock loading otherwise. This can be easily achieved by adding a half hitch beneath the termination knot..

Re: Re Large Dead Tree

The cost was $1,500.00 .We had to use a metal detector to find all the nails and wire that was imbedded in the tree. The total time it took us to drop the tree was 1hour and 30minutes.We had to drop it between two smaller trees and a rope course that they have up in the trees. It was very cold up there and I'm not use to cold weather. My hat goes off to those who climb regularly in the cold weather.Later from not so sunny today in San Diego 70's..

Re: Re Large Dead Tree

I noticed your lanyard below your block.

Where's the eye protection?

What's with all of the wraps on the logs you are blocking out?

Sorry, I had to point those things out. /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
