Knee ascender questions

New to SRT: Why can't I run two CT Foot ascenders (R and L) instead of a foot ascender AND knee ascender ?

I tried out my knee ascender today and maybe I didn't have it tight enough, but it was really floopy. Just curious

Thanks

It seemed very loose. I had the biner attached to my chest tether. Do I need to pull down on the white Dyneema and tie a stopper knot higher up?

Will try again in the AM

To make an efficient motion when you are rope walking, you need to have both feet able to operate independently moving up and down, crossing past each other on the line. The knee ascender "floats" so that the foot ascender doesn't bang into it. 2 foot ascenders would just crash into each other the whole time...

Thank you, that makes sense now

It can help with positioning when your working to when you don't have a foothold you can put a foot on each side of the spar/trunk.

Kneescender must be set to rebound at a perfect stridelength for your height. Keeps the ascender in perfect position by your sternum...my kneeascender is clipped to my chest harness which also pulls my wrench up.....

When you set the length of your knee ascender the low point is how high the foot ascender comes when you lift your foot and the high point is high enough, but low enough, to not crash into your bridge/hitch gear when you lift your "knee-ascender-leg".. Splice the footloop accordingly. Re-adjust the footloop as your kid grows, if you make one for your kid.

I just keep mine on sometimes but detach the bungee from my chest point and reattach it to my leg loop strap to be out of the way but retrievable. If I'm sure I won't want it anymore off it comes and down it goes to the ground. They're pretty durable.

edit = my comments are for haas style
