Kboom unloading logs from flat bed

The problem with that might be building a sub frame on top of the truck frame and still being low enough to get under the trailer. It also may be to light to use standard stabilizers

now that there is what I am talking about. nice find classic truck. so much for the short wheel base though

[/ QUOTE ] reason it's so long is because it's necessary to have that extra weight to keep it planted. I thought of getting one built without a body and adding a trailer I could drop at street and then maneuver a short truck into tight spaces. Isn't possible if you want to achieve full capacity of these larger cranes. There has to be room to beef up weight somewhere on the truck. The concept of crane and cab only may work on some of the smaller models definitely not on a 655.

Btw... my truck arrived at smith and a day later off it went to the dump body co. to get pusher axle installed and custom dump body concepts finalized. I should have some progress pics soon.

Also because the weight of a 100t/m kboom plus the weight of whatever you're towing(or what you have on the removable bed that truck has) requires more axles on the ground.

What kind of dump bed did you go with?

Heritage truck body co. is building the body in steel. will have smooth sides on it to maximize signage space. painted Mack Red.
