Kask helmets

Just wondering, I love my new Kask helmet and the clear visor, but sometimes I work in heavy brush and woods where the full mesh face shield of a logging helmet comes in handy.

I was wondering if it is possible to switch between the clear visor with a Peltor mesh screen and use them both when needed for a particular job?

The peltor mesh screens mount on helmets via the peltor earmuffs... so if you are using this brand of muffs you should be able to pop a mesh screen on and off.

I haven't tried it, but I'm pretty sure this will work fine. Not sure how efficient it would be. (Doubt you could do this without removing your Kask visor, but I don't know)...

Yes, It was just like wet safety glasses. Then I pushed it up for a minute and when I put it back down I neede dwidshield wipers.

Quick question for everyone. During a Maple prune today, I got rained on by Maple sap. This stuff was just dripping out of the cuts. Anyway, my visor is covered in maple sap. Wondering what the best way to clean it off would be. Just a paper towel and some water, or windex maybe??

WD40 and wipe it with sandpaper, works great.

I'd say windex would be fine.

Dont use windex! Windex is for windows! WINDEX WILL FOG YOUR SHEILD! Maybe not the first time but it will happen. Any type of sheild like motorcycles etc windex does the same thing! Use pledge wood cleaner!...its a secret ive used for years and never fogs! And for the tree sap...weather its in your hair, on your cloths, or on your sheild ive always used peanut butter! lol works! Carb and Choke cleaner works too!(JOKING!) But honestly peanut butter and pledge! I dont know where I first learned about it but it always worked!

A few pics. This was also my first 40'ish foot lock. I was beat by the time I got to my TIP.

Check into some boots with ankle protection.

never been a fan of the black helmet, not very visible from a tree, especially when looking for groundies the bright helmet is a definite plus.

A side note, had to cut the hair off today to make my helmet fit again... been floating on the muff for too long now. Felt like Strasser for a while there.
