just suppose....(stihl guys only)

Who does your saws Mike? You?

I am unfamiliar with these new small models (pro only for me for a number of reasons)...241 and 261... I understand the weight dif is small between the 261 and the 362 but likely a smaller profile????

Anyway, I think a 261 or the like to the groundie instead of a tophandle saw keeps him from one handing and maybe a w comp claim.

As for some of the above bars mentioned...when I bought my pre ported/modded 461 from Brad that I had stolen recently, he suggested and I bought the 28" light bar. Very nice for taking up in the air. But one day it went down stuck in the kerf of a big ole twisted maple chunk. Say no more ...all bent and into the garbage can. Don't think a reg bar would have done that.

I dropped an ms 200 on Saturday about 50' after I had to try to drop a half leader of dead ash between 2 trees the the worse case happened ...the leader started going over and hung in one of the trees. I was fkd. Hoping for tree man's luck instead of getting a rope in the top by tossing and hoping the groundie could pull it out...I opted for just bottom cutting it and what happened as I expected was the butt shot out away from me bringing the top right back at my head and I was lanyarded into the leader. I blocked my head with the saw and bye bye saw. My arm got a nasty bruise but the melon was unscathed....been there done that :-)

But the saw as many times before, once retrieved by the gm started right up and NO damage anywhere! Amazing product a stihl saw. I dropped one once 40' onto a concrete patio...no damage. amazing.

Well, I hate to admit it after all the trouble I've had with my first one, but the 661 is decent cutting saw. I have a 25" and 36" bar and chain for it. My favorite all around saw is the 362 with a 20" or 25" bar. So, I'd get three of them. Since you have a working 200 just get one 201 for a backup. Save the remaining money in case your 661 gives you as much trouble as I had. You will need petrol to get to and fro the dealer.

I typically only buy pro saws but when a deal comes up I don't pass it can't resist buying chainsaws and flashlights haha.
That's how I got the 311 as a spare but now it's used everyday and with a muffler mod and timing advance its a beast.
The 192 although not technically a pro saw holds its own.
I have sixgun on this site do all my work he loves tuning motors I had him mod 192,260,261,440 (my favorite is only 2 seconds off a stock 660 on 36" red oak),311,660
Now I just ordered a brand new 150 from him that he will mod straight from saw shop.
He's as excited about modding saws as I am about using them

Brad, when you're done with a new 261 does it start as well as the old 026's did?

That has to be the thing I hate the most about these new saws, on the cold days even when the saws are warmed up sometimes you have to pull them over 20 times to get them to start.
