Just about stroked out today.

Same issue here. Heat index up near 100. I dont climb everyday like most here but I can usually hold my own. Plenty of water so that wasnt an issue. Headache and cramping in my arms. Ice cold shower and a cold Modelo is making it all better.

It takes more than water. You're losing minerals like crazy in that sort of heat. You should look into mineral replacement mixes like Sqwincher... and take lots of breaks in the shade. You simply can't run at full output like you can when temps are cooler. Start early.

Well here in south Louisiana it don't matter how early you start when I walk out the door my glasses fog over at 5:45 am. I have these pants that dickys makes that are made out of the same material that poplin b.d.u's are made of. They breath real good. But it was just too hot, and I am stuck in one gear when I work. Now I will slow a bit and try to get out of the heat as much as possible.

Yep, lots of electrolyte replacement drinks on top of water but the main thing I find that helps is the cooling down of the core temp. Then I can continue on.

Might be too bulky to climb in, but a few years ago at our Sportsman's Classic I found a vendor that sold ice pack vest. Tried one on inside and had to take it off after a few minutes, got too cold. The company was "Cool Under Fire". I'll go thru my old cards and see if I can find a website. I thought about getting some when I did a little roofing but never had the money when I had the want.

Or you can make your own out of segmented gel packs and duct tape. They work GREAT between two shirts.
Mine are in the freezer and ready for tommorrow.
They last about 45 minutes utill they thaw so two of them are set up for the last 2 hours out in the heat.
Brrrrrrrr
The helemt fans I made up are not so practical but did manage to keep me busy for an afternoon. For under 5 bucks per fan, it was worth a try.

Jesse do you have a picture of your fan or Directions on how you made it. Ive been thinking about a fan for the last 4 years and never got around to doing it. But one would help out alot

Jesse. You gotta voice over your video.
