Hey splicers! I've been splicing for years now and in memory of Stanley Longstaff who told me this tip I thought I would share! This might be a no brainer to some but for those who are looking to make there own wire snare tools look no further than the scrap pieces of hard cable that might be laying around the shop. Stanley told me that if you have a good 5 or 6 (or whatever size you need)foot piece of hard cable that the center strand that the other strands are twisted around is straight! Simply unwind the strands until the straight strand is revealed. Bend it evenly and there you have a perfect splicing tool. How you decide to customize the wire is up to you but I personally do all my splices with this simple cost affective tip. Enjoy guys!
