Ivy Tree

Not many action shots here. Had some ivy to deal with. That strap at the bottom is Riggs winch device he was talking about in another post.

Did the ivy get in the way much?

All pieces were lowered. Most of those limbs were either cut in half then a hunk of wood or 2 pieces for the brush then 1-2 on the wood.

The ivy did give some problems. It also had couple of cables, some lighting fixures all around it, and 2 lightning protection leads in it. You know it sucks when you have to carry cutters for the lightning prot., lights, and cables, and you lanyard in on ivy.

The kicker is I didn't even use my new geckos I just bought either. It had plenty of toe holds in that ivy. It was a fun tree to say the least.

Why did you make a "crash pad" if all pieces were lowered?

And not wearing spurs on a medium to large removal is ludacris.

At 60 yrs old, I can't do those anymore, well, maybe I could with a seven person crew under me, if they're paying attention. But I can appreciate the accomplishment. Well done!

How many hours were you up there? Did you come down for lunch?

That truly is a test without the metal work to contend with! Ivy truly does ruin an otherwise great climb!! It makes me sleepy afterwards as well oddly! Anyone else experience lethargy after working with Ivy (Uk)

We made the crash pad on the otherside of the brick patio to reduce damage... the guy knew there was goin to be some damage. Less money to replace a couple of bricks than to take the time to save them. Make sense?

couldn't fit 23t crane under here. Missed it by about 4in.
Got the bucket in though. Not enough rigger space to put crane on other side and reach over.

There was a skidsteer on other side of walkway taking it down hill to the chipper. Bunch of cables in this one too.

Bucket reached out about 55-60' straight off the side, thats where it gets cut. It was kind of fun watching them deal with it over top of everything. wasn't too bad though.
