Well, now that you mentioned it,the sap is running here also.I passed a 10 acre woods coming from work with 5 gal buckets on a lot of trees. Some of the "sugar maples" were in fact ash and big tooth aspen.I'll bet that makes some nasty syrup, yuck.

Norm...Hmm? Where did my avatar go?...The arm is getting better but I still cant straigten it out all the way. I am still working on getting the strength back and loosing the pain. It is a long process Im sure. Thanks.

Hey Mark, I was wondering what the syrup season was going to be like this year with the lack of snow and the way the weather was.

Here in N.H. maple syrup season is pretty big.

Chris

It hasnt been to good yet. The weather was warm in Jan and the the nights were too cold so the trees didnt warm up until late afternoon. It turned cold again today so maybe there is still hope.

Its that time of year around here. Had a twister come through town last night. There was one two weeks ago too.

this is the same house I did a dangerous removal that I posted about under rigging and roping ("wish me luck").

In the backround you can see three removals I did a couple weeks ago for them. The stumps are still there cuz I was about to start a big chainsaw carving job! Would've been my first on-site commission job.

The twister changed everything. That carving job is on the back burner.

This tree came down three days ago, and they want me to carve them a lighthouse. I'll have to post pictures of that. (Unless they're not welcome?)
