is the Treemotion $200 better than the Sequoia?

I know man, I know. But over the past.. six months it's morphed into hate. I'm over it. Never again. Pinches, rotates around your waist, sags with anything larger than a top handled saw. Rides up occasionally. The waist adjustment eventually becomes IMMOVABLE. I had the epiphany of hatred after having flown an onyx for a few climbs. I literally mean a WORLD of difference.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread that the Sequoia SRT stinks because it doesn't have a waist buckle, actually the SRT model waist adjustment is superior to the regular Sequoia and the TM, you can tighten it or loosen it while you're climbing. I love my TM but the webbing creeps through the waist buckle a little every climb. I'd sew it to stop it loosening except it needs to be adjustable for more layers winter climbing. TM waist belt is the most comfortable for a long day in the saddle.

I actually finally checked that out... I'm taking cash to the bank in a minute and ordering it over my phone the second it's deposited. Thank you very much for the heads up, here's hoping it's plays out.. saves me $100 which i need to put towards getting a DZ liscense.

UPDATE -- Snagged it! :D
I'm glad you picked it up before someone else did! I personally think you'll be very satisfied with your selection! There is an Ergovation saddle as well, but I've got several friends that climb with them, and they're not even close to being as superior to the TreeMotion, "their words, not mine", personally I've never used one. If you want to add loops to the TM, you will more than likely want to use thick nylon washers on the cordage (both sides) , one for the knot and one where the tubing rests against the holes where the cordage feeds through the tubing. They'll last for several years depending on how much weight you hang on the added loops. Keep us apprised of your experience with your new setup! Climb safe and have fun! Best Regards!

Don't forget to send in a review after you receive your saddle and try it out, the new TS.com T-shirts are the best I've ever received. They're awesome! Absolutely love the raised lettering and the quality of them! Wash in cold water on gentle. I'm saving mine to add to my collection!

Back for the update! Thanks again for the tips with the Washers, just have to make sure I've decided on the best spots for my loops, get washers and keep on customizing the TM. It's so ridiculously comfortable, I can have all of my gear on it, plus a chainsaw, plus a pole pruner, and it'll still stay snug against my hips. The legstraps currently need minor adjustments aloft, I basically just need to push then down a bit. Thinking I just need to replace one of the cordage pieces with a longer piece, have the leg straps sit even lower and I'll be in my own little heaven. Just want more thorough experience with the setup before doing bigger changes like that. I'm very happy about my purchase!

Haha that's great! I'm not sure they send the shirts to Canada but I'll definatley give it a shot! I do have a good collection of their stickers and multi purpose... shoot I can't recall the name right now but the little fabric you can use as a took or baklava or whatever. Anyways I'll leave a thorough review once I've broken the saddle in a bit more

I was also wondering, the manual for the TM says to not use it in below -30°c - does anybody know if that's super important? I'm expecting a lot of -40s this winter :/ My jackass boss took back the used Sherrill Edge as soon as he saw my TM dispite my warnings... he may be down a climber in the cold weather.

I'm in the same situation here in WI, but as long as you don't leave your saddle in the bed of your truck or out in the elements during those really cold weather days, you'll be fine. The leather gets very stiff (obviously) , so it could crack or even tear, but you put off enough body heat even during the coldest days to keep it pliable. I'm not sure anyone actually spends a whole day exposed in-40* days, even so when you descend for break or lunch just place your saddle in a warm area!

Now don't fall asleep when you have to wait on the ground crew.

That is such a foreign concept to me that I actually have interest in seeing it/trying out how you guys keep from freezing to death.

Lmao, loving the cold weather reactions :) I learned to climb in the dead of Winter so it's really like going back to basics for me. Living in a warmer climate would be lovely but I don't know how you folks survive summer!

A treemotion and a sequoia are like chalk and cheese....I prefer cheese
Hahaha, the TM is the cheese I presume? Shout out to all the gamers out there :p

One last unrelated question, I know this thread is getting a bit off topic now but I'm enjoying the company -- has anybody used anti-fog safety glasses? Seems like it'd be a huge advantage for Winter if it actually works.

PS. Loving absolutely everything about the TM! My coworkers are a little jealous :p

And so should they be, thryfte! I haven't found a more comfortable or sturdy saddle on the market. Now, we have the Monkey [emoji205] Beaver saddle to contend with! But, that's a different thread, all together. Mixed emotions on that one ☝️.
