The answer is a qualified yes: there's no saws buzzing, wood swinging, or chippers roaring. Did two rescues last Monday. Turned out to be a very long day. It is in part working in trees so yep it is "tree work" ;-)
For the second rescue there was pulling poison ivy vine off a dying green ash in forest habitat and of course climbing it. It was not crispy, still some leaves on. Oh yeah the "victim" was up 6 days, intact male black cat, all muscle, wanted to gnaw on me. Everything worked out. It was work though.
For this rescue on a sprawling box elder you might see how 2 harness bridges makes lanyard and main rope attachment management more efficient while advancing and making moves to get to the cat.
The part of rescue work that's more challenging than regular tree work is the people interaction/management and ground logistics. It took me a solid hour after knocking on doors, meeting several people, explaining what's going on and figuring which yard would be best to run the rescue from. That doesn't include all the text messaging, phone calls etc sorting things out day before and morning of. That happens in regular tree work too, just at a lower "volume".
