Iowa Derecho Stump Grinder purchase advice

We had a derecho hit us in 2012, it damaged thousands of trees and the cleanup took more than a year, however the second round of reprocussions went on for years as badly torn oaks started dying that could not recover from losing large limds and tops

Yes. And I am going to feel out the market with stump grinding this fall. . . If demand appears high still into next year I may go back into a full service approach with bucket, climbing etc. Hard to know what people will be willing to pay for in a job market already damaged by covid shut down garbage.

every day you aren't out there grinding stumps you are losing money. Get going.. sell jobs, rent a machine if you have to get a few early jobs done. Call dealers, demo grinders. look into financing and insurance. Get going! Go big or go home! You don't want to walk away from all the big stumps. That's good money... and satisfaction, knowing no one else was going do be able to so that job.
