Up until a few days ago, the area I live in had no cable streached on our road. so no cable internet access for our area. Our choices were limited to buying a very expensive dedicated sat. dish in order to get high speed internet access.

Now the phone company has just put in a DSL cable. So now the west side of town can get DSL. They want $16.99 for the first 6 months and thereafter it goes up to $29.99/month.
What are the pros and cons of cable internet access vrs. DSL? Is cable faster or is DSL? Does it really matter for the home user once you get to a certain speed?

The DSL I'm using now is a bit faster than the cable connection I used before. I've also never had an interruption in service, I had a few with the cable company.
Very happy with DSL....
